Our construction materials
For generations, Rombold & Gfröhrer has been a reliable supplier of construction materials for building construction, civil engineering, road construction, tunneling and ground engineering projects. Our construction materials are of consistently high quality and are regularly tested. With our efficient production facilities and our own flexible fleet of vehicles, we are ready to deliver—even when time is of the essence.
Gravel and crushed stone are essential materials in building construction, civil engineering and road construction. Since 1953, we have been reliably producing these materials with consistent quality for construction projects of all sizes. We extract and process shell limestone to create a wide range of products.
All products are regularly tested by our construction materials laboratory as part of our certified in-house production control (WPK) program.

Shotcrete is used in tunnel construction and ground engineering. The basis for our dry shotcrete or wet shotcrete is always a dry mix. The use of a dry initial mix has the advantage of allowing precise control over the quantity of material. This means no leftover material that needs to be disposed of. The high flexibility and independence from set times and days of the week enable an optimal construction process.

We produce dry mortar for the manufacture of backfill mortar, also known as ring gap or segment mortar. Used as a filling or injection mortar, it is employed in tunnel and adit construction. It is used to backfill voids, such as filling the ring gap between the rock and the segment lining during mechanical tunnel boring.
Backfill mortar must meet high standards, such as precise and secure bedding of the segments as well as good workability.
Our backfill mortar is tailored to the tunneling process, balancing stiffness and early bedding and (vs.?) workability time.

In tunneling and ground engineering, anchors are used for stabilization and are grouted into the rock using anchor mortar. Anchor mortar must sometimes transmit extremely high tensile and shear forces, which is why the requirements for this building material are particularly high.
